It’s weird but I don’t usually connect with coworkers until I’m about to leave a company.
Idk I thought the point was to connect with professional ppl you know? Plus my company asks us to post PR on our personal accounts haha
That is weird and would affect me for sure. But give them the benefit of the doubt and it was for an understandable reason. If your manager is otherwise treating you well just let it go. Don't bring it up unless you HAVE to.
Okay thanks for validating me
We’ve always been taught in school and in professional settings that manager shouldn’t follow or connect with their subordinates online. This includes LinkedIn. So I would respect your managers decision and just not let it bother you. It doesn’t matter a long one.
I don't like to connect with people who work for me on any socials including Linked in. I would honestly just let it go and move past it. Your manager might be the same way, its nothing personal.
Isn’t LinkedIn for work tho
That does feel weird, but try not to take it personally. Some people just keep work and LinkedIn totally separate. It might be their policy or habit. It could just be a boundary thing, not about you. Don’t sweat it too much unless there’s other tension. Would it help to just laugh it off or ask them casually about it?
Haha thanks for at least making me feel less crazy about feeling bad

I will connect with staff if they reach out to me, but I never reach out to them. Many feel you should have personal spaces. For example, I don’t do lunches, unless it’s a special occasion. They invite me but the dynamic changes if the “boss” is there and I feel it also applies with social media. Don’t take it personally because they are respecting your space and asking you to do the same.

Choosing not to accept was probably difficult for them too. Drawing those lines aren’t easy choices.
