My manager hasn't spoken a word to me in four days because I asked for a deadline extension. I can see her chatting and laughing with everyone else on the team, but when I enter the room, the temperature literally seems to drop. It’s this weird, middle-school level of passive-aggression that makes me feel like I’m walking on eggshells every second I’m at my desk. Has anyone else dealt with a boss who uses the silent treatment as a way to punish employees for setting basic boundaries?

I'm currently working as an electrical designer in the MEP industry. I really don't like it and I'm working towards a career change which I'm actively applying for and getting certified etc. However, it's been a slow process and I'm currently underpaid where I am so would it be wise to make a lateral move to another MEP firm simply because they offer me more money while I still look for a different job separate from this field? Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be. I have colleagues doing intense data science tasks as BI Analysts, and can’t help but feel indignant on their behalf because when hearing their job title, one would underestimate their technical ability.
