Convince your wife on the V8
Right
I’d get the Hemi, I had the Hemi in my 2022 ram and have the 2024 v6 GC 2–row. The Hemi was such a good engine and the sound/power was fantastic. Never had an issue with either one, they both have enough power but the Hemi felt nicer/smoother to drive. Would take Hemi if you can still find one. TBH same stuff on 2024-2025 I don’t think redesign/refresh is out until MY26
Thanks for the feedback.
Jeep might not be a company very soon. They are on the ropes financially.
True
Yes, I have lots of thoughts on this. I’m on my 2nd GCL lease. First one was a 2021 Limited 3.6. Second one is a 2024 Overland 5.7.
The Hemi is a nice upgrade over the Pentastar v6, but you barely feel it there. The added weight of the Overland (v8, more complex 4wd system, air suspension, sound deadening, etc) hampers much of the power and torque advantage. Also the exhaust note is quite muted.
Can you tell the v8 GCL has a bit more oomph than the v6? Sure. Though our v6 GCL felt just as agile as a base v6 Cayenne we leased previously.
Would I get another GCL after this? No. The first GCL had no reliability issues but the second one has spent too much time at the dealership for repairs. After this lease we are done with Stellantis products and probably getting a Rivian for our large SUV slot.
Average Jeep ownership experience
Don’t tow a 5000lb trailer with one of these jeeps. Rent a truck for that weekend. No reason to get so close to the towing limit
GX would do the trick as well.
Absolutely not. Stay far away from Jeep or anything Stellantis/FCA. My gf had a Cherokee with the V6 and at first it was like wow ok idk why I was so hard on Jeep on these years but after 2-3 years things started really going sour, engine issues, stop/start issues, transmissions issues was a BIG one, and electric/infotainment issues. It was such a POS. Initial quality is there, sure, and it’s enticing. But nobody ends up having a good time
Get a Tahoe with the 5.3, those SUVs are awesome. I’ve gotten to drive several the past few years including the last gen by way of my family and I could easily recommend those, especially way over a Jeep. My family has the Tahoe to tow a boat and it’s great at it, even with a full car
Not just what you said, but a V8 will out last a V6.
Yea it will
Thanks everyone for your feedback here.
