I've had a hybrid role for the past 4 years where I get unlimited sick days (well 14 really until fmla kicked in), 3 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days. I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. I would take fully remote over fully in-office. But my ideal is hybrid (no more than 2 days in office). Given that you often can't get exactly what you want, I'd pick fully remote and then just go to a co-working space 2 days a week if I really wanted to.
It's huge for me. I've worked remote for the past 8 years, so the prospect of going back in office five days a week is incredibly unappealing. With so many companies forcing RTO mandates, I haven't been able to find many open WFH positions lately, and the few that are posted get hundreds of applicants in a day. As much as I'm ready to leave this company, I'm not willing to sacrifice my flexibility to do so.
It’s a perk, but not the top priority for me right now. A lot of jobs that are advertised as remote, flexible, or hybrid usually aren’t exactly that anyway. Seems up to the department and manager what they feel like allowing.
