Can I move to Florida the month my bonus hits and not pay any NY State tax on it? Or would I just declare that 1/12 of the year I was in Florida and get the pro-rated refund from NYS on my overall Pay

How does NY (or any other states that tax income) enforce taxes on nonresidents? Assume the taxpayer does not file state return with NY and does not have NY on W2.

Seems NY would have no way of targeting said taxpayer for audit. Thoughts?

What about for a dissolution with a complex asset situation and children? I had a prenup a few weeks ago that came out to $7,000 and another about $5500, and I didn’t overbill, but I am willing to write some off if that seems excessive or I am just slow. I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)

I’m so scared to let a relationship that gives me anxiety go because I’m 36 F and feel like I’m not going to find anyone else. He’s not a horrible person, but he can be inconsistent. When I bring it up to him he says he’ll try harder but then always goes back to default. First 2 years for CSR is about to be over, and I’m looking at the value of the card against the annual fee. Combined with my other cards (Chase Freedom Unlimited & Flex) and deducting the $300 travel fee, the net benefit is $76. Is that enough to justify keeping the card? Target Date Fund or Index Fund investing for 23 y/o analyst? Which should I prioritize?

How did you get up the courage to invest? I max out the annual allowable contribution amount for my 401K, but otherwise I’ve got everything in savings. I have no debt, just a bunch of excess cash I’m too scared to do anything with. I know this is irrational - I’m above the FDIC-insured amount and I’m also losing value to inflation. I was given a 15k, 0% loan to pay off my student loans upfront from a family member. Would it be better to invest this money and just pay back my family member monthly since the 4% rate on my loans would be less than (hopefully) the amount gained in the market?
