Actual friends with co workers?
Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! Hopefully what you said was honest and what you did is done so move on and let it go. The past is in the past, focus on the future
A long time back I had an exit interview when I was a team lead and I had a lot of issues with my manager/director and so did many others so half the team had left so when I did I was honest about their management style and skills and so they did ask 3-4 others about the director and they didn’t fire them but demoted them to individual contributor, they really didn’t have what it took to be a leader at the time

Truth is an absolute defense against defamation. Also, there has to be actual injury for there to be a lawsuit. If he doesn’t get fired, there is no lawsuit.
If he does get fired, then why would people be scared to back you up.
If your former boss gets fired, most likely the complaints you have are not new. They wouldn't hire someone unless there was a history of issues/complaints.
If your former boss sues you, just countersue.
There are many steps that have to happen before a lawsuit could even be in the thoughts against you. I know it can be hard to stop catastrophizing in these situations, but as of now, everything is a ok.
Also now you know to never take the exit interview ever again, nothing for you to gain.
Exit interviews never solve the problem. Unless your manager is involved in sexual harassment or “hostile work environment” nothing will happen. You will be ok.
Do you have an umbrella insurance policy? If not get one asap as it will almost certainly cover your legal fees and any damage awards if you are sued. The policies are very cheap relative to the peace of mind they provide (usually premiums run $100-400 per year per $1 million of coverage).
Everyone should have one.
Just keep your integrity in tact. Do not fret the maybe's, deal with them as and when they arrive if they do arrive.
In future to be supersafe during meetings use a way to record the onscreen conversation or audio to protect yourself.
Best wishes.
If they get fired and claims those things never happened that is on your former HR, not you. Besides, once they are gone I bet a lot of people will suddenly back your version.
