Look into some roles at Untied Rentals, more specifically at the corporate level. We have roles similar to mine that come in 2 days a week and WFH 3. I can’t speak to what a FTE would make but as a contractor I get paid pretty well.
Duke energy has a hybrid work schedule for a lot of jobs. Not sure what you do, but we go in the office 2x a week.
Does your job offer you the ability to go in at all? Deloitte office has a ton of foot traffic, mostly tax/audit. Your experience sounds like a nice fit in the Life Sciences and Healthcare (LSHC) practice which has a pretty solid consulting presence.
Unfortunately no, my company isn’t local and our team is spread all across the country. I have considered looking into a consulting role, but my fiancé is also in the big 4 and I worry we’ll never see each other again if we both are 😂
Would you consider getting a more extroverted or people oriented hobby? I also have a remote job and struggle with this but have found solace in going to a rock climbing gym and a kickboxing class
I think this could help, but only with the socializing part. The other part of the issue is also just sitting at my desk in my home for 40+ hrs each week is starting to get old haha but I could also be better about taking mid-day walks or just going outside for a bit during the workday
I struggle with something similar. I work from coffee shops, markets, and do a co-working space once a week just to get interaction.
Unfortunately my job keeps me pretty much tethered to my desk (technically required to have my laptop connected to company-supplied hardwired internet). I can get away with private Wi-Fi occasionally if I’m traveling or something, but a bit hesitant to work from a coffee shop 😕
What type of PM certification do you have? Do you want to travel? What’s the largest project ($ and FTEs) that you had oversight experience? The industry you have served is rich in opportunity, answer the above and let’s see
Almost done with courses for the CAPM, planning to take exam this summer (too young in my career for a PMP, but that’s the next goal). My roles haven’t been “traditional” proj mgr roles so “projects” have been semi loosely defined. My current role is at a fortune 5 company with a $40M annual cost savings target for my team of 4. Most of our projects fall into that larger goal, of which I have oversight in probably 30% or so. Oversight of people has been pretty minimal given my seniority, more so just delegation of tasks. Also very much aware I am just barely above entry level given I have <5 years of FT experience, but I have been working in more mid-level roles for the past 1.5 years.
