I don’t know that any restaurant provides an “experience” like you’d find in NYC, etc (but I know I’ll be quickly shot down on this comment :-) ). The closest would be some of the more corporate steak restaurants (eg Steak 48)
Some very good restaurants IMHO:
-The Fig Tree (good fine dining, good wine)
-The Crunkleton (vibrant restaurant with great bourbon list)
-Good Food on Montford or Stagioni (same restaurant group - both focused on smaller servings the latter being Italian)
-Kindred (it’s solid, but a haul and not worth dealing with the drive if you want to have some drinks)
I second the Crunkleton!
McNinch House. Like stepping back in time. Very personal experience

Definitely adding this to my list. Thank you for sharing.
Indaco is great
Deluxe Fun Dining on 4th street
The Fig Tre Restaurant is awesome, especially for special occasions!
What's your preference? Would you like an indoor or an outdoor set-up? A Japanese, American, chinese or European food?
I frequent Lang Van whenever I'm in need of a Vietnamese fix. The Mad Greek cafe is also a nice little hoke in the wall on South Blvd. Try the Greek gyro if you're there.
I go to The Fig Tree Restaurant whenever I feel boujie. Which happens once every two months, lol. Anyway, if you like asian cuisine, specifically vietnamese food you should try Lang Van.
