My feedback: “A creative portfolio for advertising needs to show much more range both in thinking and in execution. Right now you have one piece, and it doesn’t yet demonstrate the key things agencies look for: concepting ability and craft. A strong portfolio usually includes multiple campaigns (not just single ads), each with clear art direction (find a partner), and strategic thinking behind them. You’ll want to build out at least 4–6 campaigns. And make it clear what we’re looking at. Is the Forbes ad a print ad? A magazine cover you’re proposing? I kind get what it’s trying to say but I’m lost in terms of why Forbes. When you nail the big idea behind it, the work can become clearer. Look at portfolios from graduates of portfolio schools to see how they set up spec work. Don’t be discouraged. Building a portfolio takes time, iteration, and lots of experimentation and you’re headed in the right direction by starting. Just keep at it and develop campaigns with strong art direction and clearer conceptual thinking so your book truly reflects your creative potential. Ok, Luigi?”
You just have I didn’t come up with it bitter envy syndrome.
i don’t get it
@GSD&M
Sadly, there is probably nothing “low level” about it.
What’s with the line breaks? Reading it like a haiku doesn’t aid in the idea.
It would make a better pharmaceutical ad.
