Next week I’m taking a few days off since we’re always slow this last week of August. I’m taking my kids on a road trip to visit family. I am more stressed about taking them on a trip (the whining, the hangry kids, being frazzled in a city I don’t know…) than I am at work. Anyone else also feel stressed about home activities more than work itself? I think that’s such a funny concept, given that the restaurant industry is all high stress….

I can relate to that to some extent. I'll deal with a lot of stress and chaos at work and I'll mostly just navigate it and keep a sense of humor about most things. But when I get together with my relatives there's always a pretty good chance something really stressful will happen. Family stuff just hits different. I know I shouldn't let some of it bother me, but it can be difficult to shrug it off.

Right? Feels weird though because you’d think the restaurant biz is one of the most stressful industries to begin with. But yeah - kids and extended family definitely hits different!

That sounds like it will be a really nice time. I get stressed out about that kind of stuff too though. Try to relax and enjoy having some time off.

Are you a “Prodigious Accumulator of Wealth”?

N = 10% x (Your Age) x (Your Salary)

If your net worth is 0.5N or less then you are an under accumulator; around 1.0N then you average; 2.0N or greater then you are prodigious.

This is the millionaire next door formula.
