Don’t do those free nights & weekends things. They raise the price way up for all the other times, so you end up paying the same.
It would have said that it was time of use when you signed up.
A good price is about 0.013c / kWh.. don’t fall for the 9-9 free electricity plans, you’ll end up paying double during the day.
I use reliant; if you go to Sam’s club - they have their own and I saw some pretty decent deals there
Use the state website — https://www.powertochoose.org/ — not the other ones with similar names - to shop plans. It’s much more apples to apples. Only look at the highest rated companies, and avoid plans that have an early cancellation penalty. You want fixed rate, not adjustable (in case the price of nat gas goes up) for the longest time period you can find. When you call them to set up your plan, refer to the plan name/rate you found on the powertochoose website (the phone operators will usually try to steer you into something else that may not be as favorable).
Your power company should be able to give you the fact sheet of the plan you signed up for. That will show you if you’re in a free nights/weekends plan.
But agree with Pwc1. Those plans just charge you double during the day to make the nights free. But if you’re in one, at least you can plan to run your laundry and dishes overnight to make the most of it.

This plan is good if you arent using a lot of energy during the day. My family used this plan before Covid as we were not home at all from 8 am to 9 pm everyday, so we didnt really use much.
