What agency is doing the new Twizzler ads?
Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

I like it..for scrub daddy. Dunno how Dunkin' benefits from this

Valid.
In an odd way I think jr cw is onto something that we kind of forget after years of working in advertising: the public doesn’t think about the strategy behind the work enough to even notice it in most instances, and they generally don’t care about it.
Scrubdaddy is super popular on TikTok so here’s something people who like the two brands like.
Do I think it’s a great idea as an ad professional? No. I don’t even think it is an idea. But I see how a regular consumer might, and a jr copywriter was a regular consumer more recently than any of us more established creatives
Fwiw, op, if I was your cd and you brought me this (and I had to improve it instead of killing it), I’d look for a problem to solve like “Dunkin’s new flavor is messy and gets on your hands so they’re pairing it with a scrubdaddy to clean your hands” (not sure if your hands are what a scrubdaddy cleans but something along the lines of that as the reason to do it)

So what you are saying is this is fan service. That can still be part of a strategy. The creative idea itself is whimsical which is a way of saying it’s sole purpose is to amuse fans of these two brands. And give it’s designed to be shared in social it’s purpose is to get people posting themselves use this thing and act as earn advertising for both brands.
If they can swing it with their audience it isn’t without merit and one could argue is a smart move. Now I’d worry about someone posting a pic of that sponge once it gets filthy with all sorts of bacteria-ridden debris. That’s where the partnership seems like it becomes a fail for Dunkin, but this probably passes with the news cycle before we get to that point.

Looks like a bad comp with no idea. Did you make this?
Ok I see in another post that they are sold in a regular pack so the shot above is just a comp for a web banner or something. Why dunkin agreed I dunno. They got some cash. Why scrub daddy needed the colab is just to raise awareness. So I guess I’m cool with the collab but the above pic is still not an idea, it’s like what you’d see in a pitch deck.
Amazing that some people still don’t get how culture works. It doesn’t need to be over rationalised to be a good enough idea. One of the most talked about thing this year was a Dune popcorn bucket. Stop overthinking things please lol

That explains the popularity of the Scrub Daddy having a mouth.

Just when you think the bar in our industry can’t possibly get any lower… 🤦♂️😞
Can they clean out the desk of whomever made this?
Here for the Dunkin’ Daddy
Meh?
I should’ve saved a top-comment I saw on TikTok. It said “No one asked for this but now we all want it!” in reference to kitschy, limited-time collabs.
It doesn’t matter what each of these products ‘do for each other’, they’re matching vibes and offering an affordable yet limited keepsake for ppl to buzz about.
Also there is this trend of ‘chaos packaging’. Like coffee in this medical looking branding:

Hopefully, the dishes aren’t too messy.
It’s putting a product in someone’s hands to look at every day so they crave donuts.
Doesn’t need to be anything more than that. And you don’t need to overthink it.
This is a very simple, and most importantly, an effective tactic that you shouldn’t be afraid to do.
Most customers are not paying attention to, or even really getting, your “big idea” work for the most part anyway.
The idea is that donuts look like donut shaped sponges?
I have a scrub daddy shaped like a piece of bitten toast. I think it’s just their thing
I guess I wish the donuts had faces is all. who cares about a hole in a sponge.
but how much better would it feel to bite into your Dunkin Donuts x Dawn®️ blueberry jelly-filled donut? missed opportunity. 🤷♂️
I’m, ok junior
What is this trying to communicate?
Question for the ages.
I’m more of a scrub mommy person
best thing i’ve seen all year tbh
Mmmmmmmmmm sponges
