How much mid year raise did you get today? I think you are super super low for SC at D and you probably got a fat raise today, and that should be a factor around D underpaying you. If you are confident on promo, I would stick it out for five more months and then bounce.
I am in a similar boat, I am a SC who got M offer at EY for 185k base but D just increased my salary from 152 to 174k and this is my milestone year to get to Manager in June.
Thanks D1, in the S or A? And which sub offering?
Stay for now. First, you said you want to leave consulting, so switching Big 4 is unlikely to help here unless you're getting access to new/better work or higher end brands like EYP or S&. Second, if you're up for promo soon, you can get a better offer (both within and outside of consulting) by leaving as an M.
I am just starting my promo year in 2022, so it would "take effect" June 2023. Sorry, didnt mean it to sound like I'd be getting a promo in 6 months
If I were you, I will move after the promo to M. It will take at least a couple years to move from SC to M at EY.
Mentor
Would you also be up for promo if you left to EY?
Ya idk personally I’m leaning towards commercial and just take the hit in WLB
If you come in to EY at that salary as a SC, don’t expect to get much of a raise/bonus in the preceding years.
It would take me till 2025 to get equivlanet of 145 base here... that includes 5.5% raises (my historical average) and a 10% promo raise to M in 2023
Wlb at any big4 or even consulting in general is not consistent. It highly depends upon the clients and the current attrition rate.
If you see a lot of people jumping ship, guess who’s gonna be on the line to deliver them now
I am confident my WLB for the next year at least at D will be "easy", at EY i am more concerned about how it will look
I would stick around. Try to leverage the offer to get a raise.
No counter offered fyi, tho my ppmd and sm tried to get it for me. My SM called me on wednesday to transition roles because another key person is leaving aoon and I was like "uhhhh i might be also"
Deff not what they were hoping to hear 😂
Ask EY to bring you in as M
Thwy brought me in as senior 3, which is typical promo year
Edit: I took the offer
145 base, 3k sign on, SC role, Senior 3 level, raise eligible in june, can be up for promo to M in around a year
