Does anybody have any experience getting a Grandpad or Jitterbug (or similar) for an elderly relative who is not local to you? My Dad is reluctant to carry a cell phone and never uses the flip phone I got him 10 years ago but maybe if it was more basic /easier to use he would (?) I told him if he goes out walking he should be carrying one. He has a history of falling a few times a year and I want him to be able to call 911 if he needs to. I’m a plane ride away. I got a follow up call on an application for a "Remote" position. Talked to the recruiter and was told they planned a mandatory return to the office in the next year and the position was only "Remote" until then. Has anyone else see this?

I finally move out in two days and as the day gets closer, it gets so much harder. I love him and it hurts. Even right now, I’m still living with him and I’m in the living room watching tv and he’s working at his station. I think soon I’ll just be occupying my own time alone and not with the person I love. Is it worth it to get an official diagnosis for autism? I heard the process takes a few months, and you have to collect a lot of things, and spend a lot of time to get it sorted. So far, I’ve just had some suggestion from the psychiatrists who diagnosed me with ADHD. You can “typicalise” ADHD, but you can only work around autism, right? What made you pursue a diagnosis?

How do you excuse yourself from meeting that will likely be useless, because you are just people-Ed out and you don’t want to attend?

Would you be willing to move to a different job with less pay of that means you hate your coworkers less? How much do you value absence of mental anguish and/or rage?

I have ADHD and so I work best in sprints. One day will be hyperproductive and I'll get most of the week's work done, and the next day, I'll be able to only do emails and meetings. Does anyone else struggle with this? How do you handle the expectation that you do 1/5 of the week's work each day vs loading it up on hyperfocus days?

Do you tell your boss about your quirks? When do you tell them those?
