I'm in therapy. I mean I've been in therapy for as long as I can remember but it definitely helps with being an EA. I hear you when you say there's a lot that we know and we're just expected to pretend like we don't know any of it so we don't speak it into the universe. But that burden stays with us. Journaling helps too.
This seems to be the way to go but therapy is so darned expensive!
Therapy! It’s the best way. If not, vent a lot to your spouse. Lol
this! but then also with all the confidential information, i pretend that i did not read what i read so it doesnt take a toll in my headspace ;)
Definitely therapy. If your employer has an EAP, activate that to "test" out people you like. Most counseling services are covered under insurance, and the copay would be like going to your primary care. Some companies do go all in and pay for counseling services at 100%. You need to call your provider and find out what your benefit is. It is the best way to "trauma dump" and move on. This is what they do. I see mine weekly.
