Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I've seen a couple posts along these lines. I think it's a really smart question to pose to interviewers. Haven't had an interview in a while, but this will be on my list of ?s to ask at the end of my next one.
I think this is a good idea but it won't always work. However it's worth trying and I think I'll do that next time. That way I can know if I'm at the upper range or the lower range based on my experience and knowledge.

Fair point, I typically just ask "is this negotiable?" and then I've done research on the role, industry, company and competitors.
But this is a clever way to flip the script on the recruiter - you just need to make sure you can back up why you're a top-dollar candidate!
