My firm recently switched to a time keeping system that monitors everything you do on your computer. I have ADHD and often google random things (I.e. scores of games; actors in movies/shows; news articles; etc.) has anyone had a problem with AI monitoring and/or management getting on you?

Do the random things on your personal phonr

likehelpful

I do this too. I would also suggest using your phone. Although if you connect to wifi they can track that as well. So I would probably just use your phone and not connect to any firm wifi.

They won’t care about random harmless Google searches. Just be reasonable

like

Yea I used to work for the DOJ and they tracked stuff as well. As long as you aren't spending all your time doing random google searches you will be fine.

Random searches are fine. However, I would advice to use your separate gadget for personal use. Better to be extra safe.

like

That would stress me out to no end. I think as long as you are getting your work done they have nothing to complain about if you check the news every once in a while.

like

When you wfh you should use your personal laptop/iPad for non-work items. Extra bonus- when you’re getting distracted you can remind yourself to put down the personal device

likehelpful

But why would they care ? As long as you’re meeting your hours.

like

Can you just use your smartphone instead? Not sure there's another way around it, unless you feel comfortable talking to the powers that be about why you need to Google random things and get their approval. I'd just grab my iPhone and call it a day.

I have a firm phone so it’s still in the same boat

use your personal phone, and bring in a personal laptop

She said when I’m engaged it’s great but need to keep it going. I’ve mentioned my ADHD previously but I’m sure she doesn’t know all the components of what that means. We’ve had org issues - no clear role descriptions or expectations. Yes I do have a hard time staying engaged (and I’m medicated - Vyvance in the am, dextroamphetamine at noon). Thoughts?

Anyone joining EY GDS Pune on Aug 17th?

Hi Guys, I came on a previsit and joined and then returned back to my Home Town but while signing the contract i saw that if you leave the company withing 2 year you have to pay entire relocation cost back.

1. My initial offer letter didnt have these clause mentioned.
2. Is Pre-Visit considered as a part of relocation, I came because they denied virtual onboarding .

Now my question i didnt take relocation package i was forced to come for onboarding.

One of the things that my ADD coach helped me with was realizing that I wasn’t prioritizing activities that help me feel recharged. Between work and home responsibilities, I was just burnt out and overwhelmed.

So now when I start to get burned out I focus on reducing auditory overwhelm, getting outside, listen to music, get comfortable, read a fun book, etc.

As we’re heading into the weekend, what are some things you do to recharge and give yourself a break?
