One of the things that my ADD coach helped me with was realizing that I wasn’t prioritizing activities that help me feel recharged. Between work and home responsibilities, I was just burnt out and overwhelmed.

So now when I start to get burned out I focus on reducing auditory overwhelm, getting outside, listen to music, get comfortable, read a fun book, etc.

As we’re heading into the weekend, what are some things you do to recharge and give yourself a break?

I’m gonna sound like a grandma but I recently started doing jigsaw puzzles a few weeks ago and work on it a little throughout the day/week. I’ve been doing like 1 puzzle every 5-7 days. My mom visited the other week and said she noticed how much calmer I am. I also started doing this leg on the wall thing for 15-30 mins a day (mostly at night to unwind) and consistently doing these things everyday has led to me not feeling as burnt out as I normally would. I’m trying to work on making exercise a routine habit again but baby steps 😅

I’ve been very into puzzling too the last few months! It’s a great grounding activity. I pop on an audiobook and what a nice little evening.

I took Friday off and didn’t check my phone or answer a clients call. I told them I’d call back on Monday and they could call the main firm number if they needed help before Monday.

Im enjoying a long weekend at the beach 😎

I watch netflix with my wife. Not sure it’s the best way to recharge, but it is nice:)

Does anyone freeze with deadlines, and if so what works for you? Whenever I have a deadline my brain freezes and refuses to work. It used to be that my brain worked overtime right before a deadline - now it refuses to work until after a deadline. I think this is because all of my deadlines are internal and I’ve never had a partner look at anything immediately after a deadline. This is affecting my work obviously - any tips would be useful and appreciated!
