One time when I was working at a thrift store, I showed up to open and the front door was completely broken into. Turns out someone had smashed their way in overnight. The area had a heavy drug problem and there were always people camping in the parking lot, so sadly it wasn’t super shocking.

Saw the camera footage later yep, they broke in and stole a bunch of stuff. And the wildest part? The store didn’t even fix the door. Just replaced it with a wooden plank like it was no big deal 💀

Does the store not have insurance? I would think if the store had insurance for break ins and stealing the insurance would cover the cost of a new door.

That’s what we wondered too! You’d think insurance would’ve covered it but either way, the delay made no sense.

My company covers in depth results each week, including meetings set/attended, wins, revenue, retention etc. I feel as if evaluating in such depth is detrimental to the psyche, as you never get to “ride the high.” In addition, some weeks are simply slower than others, and it’s not always representative of what the results at the end of the period or quarter will be. Is this not a big deal, and I’m I placing too much importance on it? Or is it beneficial to review results less frequently?

This summer I will be teaching the two courses required to gain the extension certificate to be a New York State certified Work-based Learning Coordinator. Is there a requirement for additional training to become a WBLC in your location? Is it part of an existing CTE teacher’s responsibility or something else? Do you need a WBLC for your program approval?

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that.
