Do as the Romans do

Leave and go to Florence

That bad huh?

I lived in Rome for 2 years. Please ignore people telling you to skip Rome. Not sure what they travel for- so many things to see if history and art interest you. Galleria Borghese alone has many incredible sculptures and paintings. Walk into random churches and see masterworks. San Luigi dei francesi for example just casually has an enormous beautiful Caravaggio hanging on the wall. November is a great time to go. Go to the vatican late at night and walk across the piazza when it’s empty. :)

Bologna’s also amazing but I love Rome. I know it’s gotten crazy the last 10 years or so so probably good you’re going in the off season. I personally don’t think I’d go in summer again unless I had good reason to.

Coliseum, Pantheon, Vatican.

Definitely do a sunset golf cart tour.

Eat or go to Florence

Spend 2-3 days in Rome, go to Florence for 4-5 days, do a day trip from there to Pisa and one to Pompeii, call it a wrap.

You don’t need more than 3 days in Florence.

What time of year are you going?

November

Didn’t expect the “avoid Rome” answer. Heard that about Athens - spent a good four days there and want to go back and spend more time. Like Athens, this is in the off-season.

Question on UK visa-
My partner will be traveling often to London, once a month for an year starting September. He is getting his visa through work (10 years, multiple entry, 6 months max stay, cost some $1000).

I have applied for standard tourist visa in the past and they are usually short term. It could be max 6 months, but they see your itinerary and allocate you few months around the itinerary

Is there a way to get 6 months multiple entry visa, if I were to join him once in a while.
