Monterrey is a beautiful city and a place people don’t talk about much. Lots of hiking and nature around.
The beaches along Quintana Roo are amazing. But if you go, try the more remote stuff and definitely skip cancun.
Chiapas looks wonderful for outdoor adventures but I haven’t personally been.
I think Mexico City is one of the best in our hemisphere. Amazing place with so much to offer. If you’re into food and culture, this would be the place to check out. And then from there, explore some of the old surrounding cities. It feels like you’re in Europe. Guanajuato, San Miguel, Taxco, etc.
Mexico City is drastically underrated if you’re into food and art. Pujol and Quintonil are #9 and #27 on the world best restaurant list this year and they cost a fraction of the rest. Then there are the countless food stalls at markets like Xochomilco. I’ll let you google the museums and art galleries. Special shout to take the sunrise tour of Teotihuacan if you’re into archeological sites. And from there, it’s cheap flights to Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Tulum, puerto Escondido, etc.

Absolutely not doable, 4 days is barely enough time for one place no matter where you’re going

3rd vote for Mexico City. Shockingly underrated. It’s a city of 25M people with so much to offer, amazing food, and so many things to do.
Choose beach or city!

I went to Puerto Vallarta for Thanksgiving a couple years ago. We picked it over other spots though because we’re based on the west coast and didn’t want to have a connecting flight
Pro
We flew from Vancouver (cheaper flights from Canada for US Thanksgiving) and it was a little over 4 hours. LA’s convenient so you can probably fly to most cities around 3-4
Mexico City, Oaxaca, Guadalajara/PV(but either the old city or Sayulita, skip the resorts)
Pro
Live Aqua in Cancun.
Not your typical family resort. This is Upscale, zen vibes (lobby and hallways are dark lit with candles at night), nice spa, top shelf liquor, beautiful pools and beach with bottle service. Nice restaurants, huge gym. It was very relaxing.
My friend Andy said he loves Zihuatanejo
Another vote for Mexico City!
