Our company has a number of offices all over Europe. In each country, we have a local counsel. I'm looking to retain a more general EU law firm for when issues come up that affect the EU generally (i.e. the EU pay transparency law going in effect in June 2026).

Any recommendations of a firm or at least where to look for one?

Good experience with DLA.

Ehhhhh, not sure how feasible this is. We have a large EU presence but there is still a lot of bespoke, country specific issues that we have to have local counsel advise on. Even if you got a firm like Linklaters, they are just going to ask their local office anyway and you'll pay Linklaters prices. A lot of the time, you can lower the avg fee you'd pay other wise by finding cheap local counsel where you can vs. one big expensive shop.

Or hire a large firm that you trust quality wise and tell them to use and coordinate their trusted local counsel. Keeps cost down but also allows for more quality guarantees.

Bird & Bird has been good for this.

Also agree on Bird & Bird. Their Netherlands team is peak

What is revenge Job Hopping?

It is a phenomenon observed when a candidate frequently jumps job in order to have a market correction to his salary.
Say person A got settled in his job for 5 years and his current salary is 7lpa..He joined at 4 lpa.
Now for his experience, he can be paid upto 30 lpa for the role.
So after switching for 13 lpa.. He keeps job hopping from 13-19 and 19-28 within a year where he finally feels he is paid adequately.

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

Very specific to retail and/or hospitality in-house roles: has anyone found a good solution for predictive scheduling? Our retail division has one set of software for scheduling and one for payroll, and neither of them can handle predictive scheduling compliance issues unless they’re used for both the scheduling and payroll functions. I’m coming up empty on ideas for them to bridge the gap, but I’m also new to my compliance counsel role, so I would be overjoyed if anyone has suggestions.
