Our firm says we’re one team, but the NYC office gets everything like the events, face time, opportunities. Meanwhile, the rest of us feel like satellite workers. How do you advocate for visibility when geography is against you?

Move to NYC.

Ask for a travel budget to attend those events or support staff to coordinate logistics to arrange similar events locally.

I mean you are satellite workers. Typically offices outside of NYC or other hubs are understood to be satellite offices. I’d wager NYC brings the lions share of revenue by a long shot.

Yeah you advocate by putting your money where your mouth is. If the firm isn't invested in growing in your market and you mostly support instead of driving revenue, then it is what it is without some rainmaker partner in charge of your office.

Any advice on how to deal with a partner/boss who is shifting all responsibility to me with zero guidance, no mentoring, and an unwillingness to discuss the issues? There are an increasing number of passive aggressive comments from the partner who expects to be completely hands off once the case lands on my desk. Wants me to figure it all out despite cases being from different areas of law.
