Our firm’s last party was a 3-hour lecture on efficiency followed by cold pizza. They cancelled the fancy dinner out of respect for the economy (read: the partners wanted bigger bonuses) and expected us to be grateful for a slice of pepperoni and a PowerPoint. Nothing says we value your hard work like being forced to watch a bar graph about billables while you’re hungry. Is it time to start looking for a firm that at least pretends to appreciate its employees?? It’s been bugging me.

We all know it’s a pyramid scheme. But Jesus H, that’s worse than retail.

Agreed

Wow. That’s messed up. Respect for the economy? Puh-lease. Run 🏃‍♀️💨

I’m sorry. Reminds me of a company I worked for about 15 years ago. When economy was bad (not as bad as it is now) they froze the raises and bonuses for everyone except for the partners. Ticked off a lot of the paralegals and staff. Unfortunately, the corporate world is cut throat.

Are you in Boston because this sounds like my old firm. 😅 Cheap a****!

Well, that's pretty gross. But I'd still focus on whether you like working there and feel like it's a good balance of work to pay.

My browser history is failing me and hope y’all can help! For the past few months, I’ve been loaned to another practice group for a good chunk of time.
