I'd say it depends on your specific location. Pay was probably my biggest issue with the job. What makes it worse in your experience?
I worked there for a short time. I left because they ended up cutting my hours to one day a week at 3-4 hours, and it was a brand new store opening up when I was initially hired. I didn't see the point of staying if they were going to do that drastic of a cut on hours right after opening a new store.
I was a baker for them for more than 10 years. For the longest time it was great because we worked overnight with fresh dough. A few years ago they started to change things like changing the shift to 2-10, bringing in more freezer to oven products. They were very secretive about the new baking model which was the par baked frozen bread and the elimination of the fdf and the baker position. They let us know 2 months in advance and gave us the option of a severance payment or to stay and make way less money and no guarantee for hours. I didn't stay and although I really liked the cafe people I haven't been back. In my opinion par baked frozen bread does not taste the same and they could have lowered the price for the food
