Recently, I told my PL I wanted to roll off due to dissatisfaction, and they were supportive, even suggesting I use my scheduling tool, surprising since that’s not how roles are typically filled. My People Lead is also my project lead, and after their absence last week, I networked and secured a great new opportunity I’m excited about.

What are your strategies for completing work efficiently? How do you figure out how long projects should take? A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.

Seeing a lot of convo in the main bowl about bonuses in the US. They are mentioned on the rewards site but are these really a thing in the UK? and if so what do they look like usually at different levels?

I joined sept 2019 as lvl11, no bonus that year, then covid in 2020, now I’m at lvl 10 and wondering if individual bonus is normal at my level
