Rising Star
It’s a good reminder that we all need to have a year’s worth of living expenses saved up. I learned the lesson in 2008 but it’s making me put a lot more money aside right now.
No, been desperately searching.
After four months of being unemployed, I finally signed an offer today 🙏🏼
Yes. In two weeks. I was honestly shocked. There seems to be a good bit of movement in the market.
No. Going back to school for a career change in the healthcare sector.
Are you me? Doing the same.
I quit my job and found another in two months through a connection. Full remote, pay bump and title increase.
It’s been 10 months now. I am too senior for most jobs (SVP+) and not getting any traction on slightly more junior roles. Senior roles are few and far between. Willing to take a pay cut or a more junior role…but even my tweaked resume that cuts out my senior titles isn’t working. I’ve also explored going client side. My resume is super tight, has been through numerous mentors and my network for feedback, I’ve worked at two big agencies and a startup that sold to a huge network…and still struggling. Thank god I can weather it financially, but considering a complete career change. It’s so frustrating and demoralizing after a while.
I was in a similar situation. I freelanced at a lower level and usually they'd ask me to stay on. I took the third or fourth offer.
it took me a full year even with big agency experience.
I was able to land some freelance gigs thanks to industry connects but it was super tough.
Even though people want to help you, they can only do so much due to lack of client spending and available headcount.
There does seem to be an uptick right now though — keep applying and a door will open!
There are still plenty of entry and mid level jobs out there, but senior positions are virtually nonexistent.
Doing some freelance work after a month and a doing bunch of interviews. I was so scared but I’m doing better than I thought.
Was laid off in autumn of 2023, got a new job 6 months later
Yes! 2.5 months after being laid off, will be 3 months when I start. I had 4 interviews (2 from connections, 2 from LinkedIn apps), made it to the final round of 2, got an offer from 1.
Found a contract gig 4 months later
Was laid off in June of 2023 and found a job in feb of 2024. Was a rough road.
CD3 you have no idea the situation but go off.
Contract is easier in my opinion. One ended. I landed another one 3 months later. Both remote & both where recruiters contacted me. Nothing I applied to picked me.
LinkedIn is where the recruiters find me,
I’m a new graduate and I haven’t found a single thing or seems like I don’t have enough experience even for the entry level job what do people suggest trying? Trying to get into digital media and marketing.
Not yet :/
It took nearly 5 months. It was rough. But it was a good learning lesson that no matter how qualified we are at our roles, planning for the worst should always be a priority.
We’re not
Not yet. Almost 6 months now. 1 interview but pay was almost half of what I was making for essentially the same job I was doing at senior lead level. 14 years experience with 2 big agencies. Hoping to stay in the creative agency field but have opened up my search.
Laid off in February 2025, no interviews, no leads even with using my network
laid off in December. Done a few interviews, but nothing hit... losing faith, considering a career change, just not sure what to change it into...
