Wanted to crowd source some info and get a feeling. From the group here. Do people think that Medicare for All is a viable alternative to our current healthcare platform? Any major things to think about that may cause adverse consequences? I am a major supporter of it so want to see the other angle as well.
Is it detrimental to my credit score if I pay off my student loans early rather than having a 10 year history of timely payments? Or does it balance out with having a reduced debt utilization?
Question: What is the very first memory you have of the police or personally interacting with the police? I’ll go first. My first memory of the police was of having my rights violated and being denied medical care after a traumatic brain injury. I was 12. My husband’s was the police putting a gun in his mom’s face. Details in first comment.
Is anyone else also feeling so mediocre at work? I used to be the top student throughout high school and university. Since I joined my firm, I’ve become so average and had to work so hard everyday just to not feel like a useless piece of crap :(

Being offered a temp-to-perm AD gig by an agency in NY. Currently I'm a mid-level making $90k, in-house, tier-2 city. I got 4yrs exp. Is temp same as freelance? What should I charge them for that gig considering it's gonna be temp in the start?
Senior Manager at D, from a pure $$$ point of view, does starting over a career from the scratch by joining FAANG as a software engineer (learning coding) make sense? Or simply sucking up a few more years and hopefully becoming MD & P? Age is 35.
Anyone interested in moving into IB or have any advice for doing so? Second year M&A attorney here at one of the top Biglaw firms based in NYC. Having been on a number of transactions and interacted closely with some of my equivalents I can’t help but think I’d find their job more interesting, particularly as you move through the ranks. Think I’m pretty set on trying to make that transition once I become a third year and Covid clears, any advice or thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
Greek life is built upon exclusivity, socioeconomic and racial, and tribalism. It then feeds into the corporate world (esp banking / consulting) and encourages further inequality. Sincerely, A so-called GEED?
Back in college I would think having a job is chill and great because there’s no pressure to get good grades. Now I’m on the job there’s constant anxiety about performance reviews every project. Is there an end to this anxiety? I’m so done with this shit
