V&E easy money
Latham
I’d say VE or LW.
KE is obviously a powerhouse on deal volume, but has a rep of just taking warm bodies.
Sidley
Latham
Probably Latham

It's V&E or Kirkland.
Latham is a joke. Good in Houston but no Dallas office and brand new to Austin.
A4 - perhaps, but unlike LW's Austin office, KE's Austin and Dallas offices have 100 and ~60 attorneys who maintain a full schedule on notable deals. That's tens of millions of dollars in legal fees per year, collected in Texas.
Agree it's easily between KE, LW, and VE.
Think it's fairly obvious it's between Kirkland, Latham, and V&E. KE has deal volume and obviously leads the pack in terms of revenue outside the state of Texas. Kirkland may also now be the largest firm by attorneys in Texas now also? Know they're the largest in Houston.
On the other hand, V&E remains atop the heap of the deal count in terms of deals by value. I also think that the firm's legendary reputation and Texas roots give the firm the ability to "keep up appearances as normal." Which obviously goes along ways in terms of keeping institutional client relationships. But there's no doubt they've suffered perhaps more than anyone in terms of losing talent amongst partners and associates alike.
Personally not as familiar with Latham but they are very skilled / successful and obviously boast very strong practices in Energy, PE, and Projects.
I agree in general, except that if people are always saying a firm has been able to “keep up”, it’s probably not the most prestigious.
