Preparing follow up messages tonight for applications I sent before the break. I have four emails drafted so far and ready to go. How aggressive is too aggressive in January.

Remember that they are returning to an already flooded inbox, and are going to be cutting a lot of corners to get through it. Don't add yours to the pile of emails that are low-consequence to ignore. Wait a few a days.

i would wait just a few days as IP1 said. they most likely have a backup from the holiday, and your email, unfortunately, will be low priority for an immediate or clarifying answer, and it may even be forgotten about. i would wait a few days, maybe even a week, and then send an email early in the morning so you show up as one of the first emails in their inbox.

also, when you did your final interview, did your inquire about a notification timeframe, or did they give you one? i would make a note of asking this question next time to avoid the limbo of wondering whether it’s too early to follow up about a job prospect.

smart

Definitely wait a few days.

I am looking for a new job at the end of a long career. I have excellent experience in IP and Supply Chain Management. I've been fortunate to be in a high-paying position in the Los Angeles area and I rarely see comparable positions posted. The comparable positions at my company are filled by one of the big executive search firms. Any recommendations for finding the rare executive-level legal positions or for landing on the radar of the big executive search firms would be much appreciated!
