Depends on the purpose of the hotel. Is it just HQ while abroad? 4 star hotel will do $300 per night. Is it for luxurious exp at a resort? Prob $1000

On business, whatever a Hampton, Sheraton, Doubletree or similar chain hotel costs. Nothing fancy for me.

Never over 2.5k/night for personal travel for me. For work whatever the nicest thing is within budget ( firms often use something like Navan that specifies budget based on average costs and I often make 5 star hotels work. My old firm always used 5 star hotels for firm retreats too so my hesitation was low. Partners booking for business also typically booked nicer hotels and I choose the same one using them as an excuse)
Thanks!
For work, I would pause before going over $1000 per night.
For personal, I have never stayed at a fancy hotel.

On business: What the firm’s travel agency finds except in some cities where I have favourites (and will pay the difference); generally prices come out between 300-500.
Would also be my personal range except for something special where I would spend more.
