Question that might be controversial. Dowry, how does this work in the USA? Isn’t it supposed to be for financial security for the bride in case of a divorce or something happening to the man? But with the laws here in the USA they are already entitled to half of everything so not sure why this is required unless we are allowed to get a prenup as well. Also dowry when the wife also has a career doesn’t seem right. I’m just thinking out loud and would love some dif perspectives!
