Quick question. So with Big Beautiful bill, my understanding is that most residential projects can now start using completed contract method after July 4, 2025. It’s been a while since I’ve done construction accounting but is that the one that if let’s say you had a project, you can put all of that towards WIP and then move it to revenue when it’s completely done? That’s how that method is right?

Basically yes, you dont pick up any income until a project is completed

Are you sure the contracts qualify? I thought that change was next year

Its applicable for contracts entered into after July 4 2025. Residential construction only

For the past 2-3 years, I have obsessively tracked my net worth/income trends/investment performance over time. I checked my trends just now, and OMG I hit the 300k net worth mark right around Christmas. I guess I haven’t looked at my dashboard for a month. This feels so cool. I want to shout it from the roof! I can’t really brag about this to my friends, so I’m sharing here! 🎉 🎉

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

Question: I have a client who started a restaurant. He leased the land and bought shipping containers where he spent money contracting out to turn them into bars. But nonresidential real estate at 27.5 years doesn’t make sense either as it’s not a brick and mortar building. Curious on others thoughts! TIA
