RANT-CORPORATE M&A. Currently have an over the top broker who is “negotiating” amendment terms for his client. Hes 1000000% using AI and making petty demands like removing terminology and replacing it with smaller words that basically mean the same and doesn’t even protect his client more. Let me add that it’s a simple amendment to extend timelines AND IM JUST CLOSING AGAENT. I don’t even represent either party. Brokers will be the death of me.

You’re not authorized to practice law. Let it go and let the attorneys figure it out.

Hi all,
Been doing privacy for about a year now in-house. Got my CIPP/US.
Having major imposter syndrome still. I feel like the minute I finally have a grasp, something changes. The law and nuances just seem overwhelming. Maybe it’s just a lack of guidance/uniformity in the US. I’m not sure if I feel this way because it is simply the nature of the work or because I’m just not capable.

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

How can I get over this feeling? I'm over the whole "stand in the line of fire to prove how good I am" bs. Any recommendations for getting over this or possible industries to pivot into to avoid bs interview processes and ghosting?

I currently work at an international law firm (4 years) and recently accepted an offer to go in house. The main attorney I support did not take the news well and was very angry with me. I feel awful and beaten down as I don’t want to upset anyone but the new role is fully remote and a nice pay bump. Looking for words of encouragement that I did the right thing. I feel awful 😞

My boss (atty) is so disorganized! I’ve been with him 6 months and he’s having a hard time delegating, sharing info and managing deadlines. I’ve organized the caseload to manage the deadlines. He says he wants me to help with discovery but when I offer to start on one, he says he needs to do it. (Since he might have to present as evidence) When I give him deadlines and ask for the docs he says he’ll get to it. It’s a small 1 man firm, and I’m the first assistant besides his wife. Any advice?

I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.
