Choose wisely.
Art Director -> CD -> CCO
Designer -> Head of Design/Design Director
Design Director I really appreciate your insight thank you so much
I’m not a recruiter. But I would put Art Director for title, and Art Direction and Design for role.
Thank you very much. So on the project itself list art direction and design
But on the top logo of my site - name and art director. Correct?

What kind of roles are you after? If highly conceptual art direction roles, I would put art director
More conceptual art for sure but I love design too
Put Art Director, it pays more. If you can design, you’ll move ahead of the many other art directors that have work in their portfolio without hierarchy, alignment and craftsmanship. It will be apparent you have a design eye.
DD, maybe not in every scenario, but in generally AD are paid more than D. Does it hurt to put both? Not at all. It’s just what path OP wants to grow into. CD or DD.

As someone that held both positions before, I always had as a title Art Director & Designer.
Caveat, you really need to know design. I get a lot of books with both roles on the title that it is clear that the person doesn’t do much designing aside from choosing a typeface.
So don’t add something that might dilute your strengths. It’s better to be an art director with design chops than a weak designer.
Also on the description of each project it’s helpful to point out what you actually designed vs what you art directed and how was your process.
And also what kind of design you do.
Roles for designers are very segmented. Brand, UX/UI, Editorial, Packaging, Motion. Each one demands specific technical skills.
Lol that’s awesome! Which pays more??
“Fart Director” would make me want to hire you.

Recruiters + Hiring managers skim LinkedIn first. Seeing both within a fraction of a second lets them know immediately that you’re good to go for either.
Whether your site reflects a conceptual mind and a designer’s eye is up to the work, but you’ll at least get them to look at your site.
