Older parents: I need your help. Currently 36 soon to be 37. Wife is same age (-12 days). We’ve delayed kids, 95% due to me. I’m starting to regret holding off and feel terrible that I’ve not enabled one of my wife’s goals. I have hesitation that I’ll be a good dad (my childhood wasn’t the greatest, and I realize that’s holding me back) and now I’m wondering if I’m just too old to even consider it. Any advice, questions, comments, criticism welcome. Guess I just need to talk about this.

Current working as a Director of Sales and Marketing at a large hotel chain. I am now trying to branch out to a work from home position as I have a special needs bonus daughter who we now have every other week 💜. Would love to find something full time from home within the industry, or in the travel market so I can be with her.

I hope he’s in as much pain as I am. The way he ended it was so cold and selfish and unlike how he was any other time with me. It was like a personality switch. I’ve never been so wrong about someone. I’m not sure how to process or recover from that part of it.

How often do people here make a trip to see their parents? Used to think this would be highly correlated to geographic proximity to parents but among my friends, not really the case. Some live an hr away and rarely get together whereas some are intercontinental and see each other more. What’s your average or goal? I used to manage every other month in my 20s but with a spouse in my 30s has become more like quarterly between his family commitments and mine

How does a person change their mindset to be more positive? I feel like I’m meant for my job, but blame all my life problems on it….having no energy, being single at the age of 30, etc. and it seems like a never ending loop. I look for new jobs, realize I have a good job then am ok for a bit then start it all over again. When I’m off of work I’m fine and realize I have it pretty good. Only real negative is I can’t vacation with my family in March due to my busy time.

I am long distance with my boyfriend and am feeling really unsettled about our relationship. We’ve been together 9 months, and long distance for 4/ 9. I love him and am lonely while distanced, but super happy with our relationship. I’m unsettled about the future and if we will be happy together in the future. I do not want to move to where he is located and he does not want to move here. He definitely wants kids, and I’m younger and more unsure. He’s a suburbs guy, and I want lavish city life.

We get it, ghosting happens. But has it ever happened to you repeatedly by the same person? Cashmere Agency in LA calls me relentlessly and then ghosts me just as relentlessly. Sales Force has done it two or three times as well. I can’t help but laugh and think about how it feels like getting a text from an ex—this didn’t work out before remember? It’s only been a month I’m still me.
