Probably took me longer than most- until my early 40’s to hit $100 per hour, but since then, the growth has come much faster to reach $132 per hour and 2026 should be close to $144.
I got laid off from Accenture during Covid, and almost immediately found a role with a PE firm PMing a Salesforce project for them for 155.00 a hour on 1099.
As a relatively young single dude, 13-14k checks every two weeks with no rent or real responsibilities working from home was a wild feeling.
If i work out how many hrs a year i actually work and divide my salary by that, it comes out to about $190/hr. My partner about the same. We live very comfortably
As a single male, you need to make $150k a year, in an AVERAGE cost of living area

Assuming you’re in your thirties and by “growing up” you mean when you were in your early teens, we can do some rough inflation math.
$50 (2004) = $85.21 (2024)
Assuming full time, 40hrs, that comes out to $177k in today’s money.
Avg manhattan one bed rent is 5k, and more for the village etc. i stand by what I said.

$4.4 would be a small, below average apartment. My last studio was $4.5
