Rules for thee and not for me. Most of us "worker bees" that are overemployed move in the shadows. Some as W-2 employees and some as contractors.

In the corporate world, some executive officers may be considered overemployed, but they don't hide it, because they serve on (sometimes) multiple boards.

If they can be overemployed and open about it, why can't we?

Great point

Thank you!

Are they usually paid at their other boards? I think they might not see it as another actual job or that it’s over employment.

Then you make a good point. Why can’t people be open about over employment if not doing a bad job at their jobs?

Let’s talk speed reading. I’m a slow reader and listened to a podcast recently on speed reading. I’m intrigued. Who here speed reads? How did you learn those skills, and what types of documents do you speed read in practice? I do mostly litigation and am thinking that speed reading would help with research but maybe not things like doc review where you need to review for both responsiveness and privilege.

Thanks for your input :)

I had requested a super brutal resume review a couple of days back here and got some excellent feedback. Added indents and cut down content (there was a lot more text earlier) according to suggestions.

Will be extremely grateful for an additional review with the changes. I am looking for business intelligence and business analyst roles.

I am also looking for a referral in Deloitte +kpmg for a systems/bi analyst role, will be super grateful for some help there too.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

How difficult is it to juggle a remote role with a hybrid role?

My current role is hybrid with at least two days a week in office. However, with the potential economic downturn, I'm considering holding on to the role to supplement my income.

I'm new to the overemployed movement, so I'm evaluating the feasibility of holding onto the hybrid role and the remote position.
