If you do decide to buy it make sure it’s CPO by the manufacturer, not the dealer. As for your question…I probably wouldn’t unless I really, really wanted it.

Hire a local, reputable mechanic to go check it out for you.
Make sure you understand what the CPO terms actually mean. For example, I bought a CPO BMW, some years ago, only to learn a few years later that a good portion of the front end had been replaced and repainted and then began to chip horribly. Turns out that that is well within the acceptable limits of their BMW CPO program. I would rather have an independent inspection.
CPO of many manufacturers have to gone to shit over the last decade, check recent reviews of actual owners to see if it’s worth it.
CPO typically comes with a warranty, so you're protected from a mechanical standpoint. What you can't tell, though, is the general condition, which means that you can't tell if the car is truly worth the asking price.
You're not likely to get a lemon, but you could take delivery and realize that the car is not in as good condition as you were expecting, and then get to live with driving a car thst you overpaid for.
I personally would take the risk only if I were looking for a lower mileage example of a particular vehicle that can't be found within driving distance, and even then I'd fly to the car and drive it home to save the expense and risk of having it shipped.
If the pricing is such a good deal for a CPO car, I would have to wonder why it hasn't sold yet.
Across country? I would only buy a car that far away if it was super rare and expensive.
