Service cloud expert here but need to get up to speed on sales cloud. What external systems are typically involved in sales cloud implementations other than a cpq or erp? Also any resources I can leverage that will help guide a sales cloud implementation in addition to the implementation guide? Looking for questions to ask in workshops and how to structure the workshops

Sales Cloud is all about turning prospects into customers and selling more to the existing customer base, so marketing platforms are common (Salesforce's own Marketing Cloud and Pardot, as well as Marketo, Eloqua, etc). CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management, like Conga, Docusign, IronClad) and e-Signature, project management tools (like Financial Force, Kimble, and Task Ray), many of the industry vertical solutions build off of Sales Cloud, etc.

Some of the Sales Cloud integrations depend on the industry. In banking it would include core banking application, loan origination systems, online banking, etc

Other integrations would include: data warehouse, MDM, OL, pricing engine, various app exchange partners (conga, seismic, docusign, D&B, etc).

Integrations to SF products would include: Marketing cloud, Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, CRMA, etc.

You would probably have integration with your lead generation sources which will include various channels leveraged by the organization and the tools. This will most likely include website, martech, list purchases, partners.

One you convert you lead, you would have your existing customers base which can come through MDM, Data warehouse, CDP, ERP, and many other systems depending on intedustry. For opportunity management, you may look at other systems to support your process such as for insurance industry it could be with underwriting tools, document generation, document storage etc. You would also integrate with back end systems that fascilitates onboarding of new client.

Your systems and tech would vary based on industry. You are also may be looking at telephony integration to support sales. Outlook for email and scheduling of salea meetings, mapping or routing optimization if sales people are on the road visiting clients, and many more.

What are some brands with an in-house agency? Looking to make a move to client side.

When is it appropriate to ask / explore working on a different account? Or, alternatively, how long do you stay on a account before you start itching for a change? I’m happy with my agency but it’s been a long two years on my current client and wondering if I am just in need of something new. I’d also like to ensure I don’t get too deep on any one industry.

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

Newly minted consultant here looking for financial advice.

So I just moved to consulting after B school, and It's more money than I've made my entire life. After paying for rent and living expenses, I have 6000$ left over every month. My student loan payments are about 1200/month at 7% interest. I still owe another 95K on my loan. I have the option to pay more every month and reduce my overall interest paid.
Currently I put about 3000 towards my loan and 3000 towards my savings. Cont'd...

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

What does an exit from Salesforce consulting look like? I’m in a technical role leading a small team so my understanding is a technical/solution architect or a development team lead at either Salesforce or an end user like Amazon/Amex.

I have bounced around a couple consulting companies so would prefer not to do it again. Total 4 YOE.

I don’t think I have enough YOE to go for a program architect role at SF otherwise I’d be interested.
