Hi fishes, can you please tell me why do ppl say join EY GDS and not EY India. I am into Java Fullstack, yoe-4, location -Pune recently cleared online test and given interview and later get to know it's EY India not GDS. Now m worried should I join or not. I have 2 other offers from WITCH companies. EY EY India

Oh boy lol. I mean this is the first time I'm seeing this, so I doubt that's why they are suggesting it. I wouldn't worry about it.
I’ve been promoted twice since 2020 (remotely working). I haven’t found an issue with picking up extra projects and getting leadership exposure.
I would be more concerned if your team is not looking to sign up for additional work or projects (if they did prior to 2020). I honestly work harder working remote as I have more time to complete my everyday work and extra time for needed projects.
I set up semi-annual meetings with my boss’ boss and talk about what I am working on and what he wants me to be working on.
He gave me 2 projects- each which got me a promotion. I made him a “mentor” which definitely is out of my comfort zone however I wanted to move up 2 levels
I would set up skip level meetings to “keep in touch” and for “career growth”- they can’t say no and will throw work at you which you can either sink or swim
I wouldn’t be concerned. Remote is anazing
Ultimately your skills, achievements and communication with your manager will have a much bigger impact on your promotion chances than simply being remote.
