Studied accounting and finance but worried about the future of this profession. Currently working in Forensic Consulting but want to leave. Should I go back to undergrad and get a computer science degree? I honestly want a career where I could at least potentially make 600 k per year. I feel in accounting it’s near impossible. It's been two months I joined in virtusa and got assigned to jp Morgan client project and now after completing the first task manager is saying since they have budget constraints I have to change another project and give interview for that.
Why at the first place they hired for this project?

We use Deloitte India for a number of parts of our delivery. Recently I have seen some unethical practices that violate labor laws and do not align with Deloitte principles. My manager says it isn’t my problem as they are a vendor but I can’t help thinking I have an ethical responsibility to do something. Any advice as to how to approach this without being fired?

If I need Friday 4-5pm to go to a doctor's appointment, do I need to set a meeting invite to my manager in order not to be fired?

Anyone with psychologist partners or friends? Trying to help my wife figure out next steps in her career. Currently is a clinical psychologist seeing about 20 ppl/week for 120-130 dollars a person (she currently takes insurance). IMO this limits her overall earning potential. Trying to figure out if she could: drop insurance and charge more, scale out and build her own practice, and/or work more (could maybe see 26-28 ppl/week). One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

How does your firm measure utilization? I work for a small boutique that defines it as utilization = number of billable hours/2,080 and full bonus payout occurs at 80% plus.
