I prioritize tasks and set a timer to remind me leave at the same time every day. Not everything gets done every day. It used to kind of stress me out but now I don’t really care. I work super hard during contract hours and usually an hour before/half hour after. The rest of the day is my own personal time.

I did it!!!!I set a timer and left. I actually had time to go to the store, and sat outside reading a book while dinner cooked. NICE!!!
I made peace with not getting everything done. If they want me to do more and work harder, then I need more paid prep time. I feel like it is way beyond time to change the narrative for teachers. We should be fairly compensated for our time, effort, and expertise. I don’t know many doctors, lawyers, or business people donating their time to their jobs. I would like to see teachers get this type of respect and compensation. It will never happen as long as we as a profession continue to go over and above “for the kids” while accepting poor treatment from admin and parents.
