I feel like this thing is only going to get more and more common, as well. Yeah, a lot of things on the Internet are intentionally misleading. But people also need to use common sense and good judgment. They can't just rely on their credit cards to fix all of their mistakes every single time. Sometimes it's valid, most of the time it's not.
You are right. Most of these scams are really common and people still fall for it.
I really do feel awful for people who have been scammed. These scams are so convincing I have even come close to falling for one once. Though it's not necessarily the bank's fault, they are right that someone should be protecting them. Between the government, big tech companies, and the police, no one is doing near enough to prevent people from being scammed in the first place.
You are right. We don't have strict laws or policies to save people from scam. They are right about their expectations from the bank but unfortunately banks don't take any responsibity either.
I feel for you and for the customers, even if they *should* know better than to fall for obvious scams. I'm pretty tech savvy and have almost fallen victim myself multiple times. For people who didn't grow up with computers and smart phones, it's got to be so much harder to discern between what's legit and what isn't.
You are absouletly right but what gets me is when they repeat their mistakes and don't learn from them.
