Are you moving for more $ or step up in the role to offset the higher income tax? The appeal of "work life balance" diminishes when the excitement of living in a new city dies down. It needs to make financial sense at the end of the day. I would factor in the cost of living in both cities. Sydney is also an expensive city!
Perhaps give yourself and your family a range to work with. It's never just about lower or higher income when it comes to moving countries. Obviously, everyone wants more! 😄Singapore was designed to keep people in Singapore. Figure out how big of an impact it will have in the short term if you were to move, especially with a family. Sometimes a change of scenery brings a different perspective and opens up better opportunities.

Save in SG > Chill in AU when kids are young-ish > return in old age to SG
