I’m a Consultant in the Salesforce practice, been here over a year and have worked over 40 hours maybe one or two weeks.
Is this culture applied across offices internationally?
I’m a People Leader to three Senior Consultants. When they consistently go over 40 hours a week, I have a serious chat with them and, if necessary, their Engagement Lead.
If you are in a global team, there’s more leeway. If you are in a local market, you are expected to live nearby.
I guess it varies. I've been super stressed everyday for the past few months - been getting more responsibility on the project, basically becoming a dev lead. I've billed 40-45 hours on client work alone...not including the internal stuff (sdf ...) And no one's said anything to me. But it wasn't always like this. My wlb was fantastic for the first 6 months since starting. Guess I should talk to someone
Definitely talk to someone, friend! You're not alone. Plus there's a ton of SF people on the bench right now who should be able to help ❤️
Don’t do SFDC work but pretty much universally when your brand is work life balance it is dealt with seriously. I work in a different cloud alliance but have not had issues. Great team, good leadership. I’m in a mid-level leader role often considered one of the hardest for balance and still am very supported I’m closer to 45 on average, but I’m compensated very well most of my friends have to put in more hours for equal comp.
The WLB does seem to carry based on location, so I'd take it with a grain of salt, but I know that on GGP (our global Salesforce team) people average 35-45 hours a week, or else they're actively working to fix the issue
