Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

You’re an sm. You should be able to figure this out.
Start w something like this maybe...
(A) Get a quote for monthly health insurance premium online and multiply by 12
(B) Salary is 180K
(C) 2080 working hours in a year
(D) 15% premium for the risk of being independent and cover other fringe stuff you would get from a large firm
(A+B) * (1+D)/C = target hourly rate
Your hourly going rate in the market should depend on market willingness to pay, not your BATNA
$180/hr
This. Someone said it above, but the average hourly for your salary x 2. This is the general rule of thumb for freelancers.
OP, is it 1099 or W2? If W2 with SOME benefits (e.g. partially subsidized health/dental/vision insurance, 401k but no match, etc) I think $130-140/hr take home is realistic but ask for $150. If 1099 I would ask for 10% more, so $165/hr.
180k base hourly x2
You’re also going to pay both portions do payroll taxes, so I’d include the extra 7.5% as well
It is LLC
