Michigan is in the process of rolling out free pre-k. Largest issues are logistics and enrollment process. Not the ability to do it. It’s possible.

Most people who voted for him are recent arrivals with a soft landing waiting at their parents’ place in the suburbs.

Anything he does will be better than business as usual. The ballot proposals to speed up affordable housing projects all passed, and Mamdani will be the first Mayor who gets to test drive new processes that theoretically cut the red tape and incentivize building projects that aren’t more luxury high rises that no one can reasonably afford. Next year’s race for Governor has Antonio Delgado challenging Hochul from a far more progressive and working class friendly platform. Hochul is savvy enough to see the writing on the wall, if she wants to protect her position she will play ball and help Mamdani accomplish things that need support from Albany.
Yes. He’s explained his policies and how everything would be funded multiple times. If you’re still not aware, it’s just willful ignorance at this point. Still doubting it? Look up Mayor Wu of Boston who just won her reelection UNOPPOSED. Their policy agendas are similar. The Billionaire nepobaby that tried to run against her ended up dropping out because she was too popular and he knew he couldn’t beat her (and his Dad refused to keep funding his losing campaign).

I did the research, the busses are controlled by the state so that was an empty promise.
He will never be able to implement the taxes he would need to be able to provide childcare for the whole city, and if he did, the people and corporations he’s taxing would leave. So there’s really no chance of that ever happening.
