Playa Vista sucks anyway. It's an upscale Target neighborhood where everyone is a young millionaire couple.

Two things that will kill you moving to LA are car expenses and California taxes. Some might say you can do without a car--dead giveaway that person doesnt live in LA.
Rent in El Segundo, or Playa del Rey, or Mar Vista. Still close to work, and unlike living inPlaya Vista you wont wake up part of an architectural drawing, or stock footage, or a d-bag.
PDR is the most expensive but fuck sakes that view of the ocean.
Come join us in Inglewood, Westchester, or El Segundo!
Too many agencies. Not enough brands.
Most people find more affordable spots to live and commute. Work in Playa, live in Mar Costa/Culver City/etc. Honestly most of the housing in Playa is brand new, luxury apartments, so no, you’re not going to be able to afford that
They’re paying low b/c they can. It’s a buyers market right now with so many laid off
Moving a few miles away really doesn't help. Cost of living is still comparable to SF/NYC. My rent went down a little when I came to LA but have to pay for a car, insurance, etc. Monthly bills are exactly the same.
It’s not comparable to SF, but it is comparable to Silicon Valley. SV is around $2700-$3000 month for a nice 1 bedroom, which is $1000 per month cheaper than the same in than SF.
East side has more personality and better prices.
Love Long Beach. Been doing the commute since 2004 - bought my condo for 1/2 the price
A1-hour commute ain’t that bad, dude. I listen to podcasts, call family back east, etc. I’ve learned to work 10-7 and most agencies are OK with that. Of course I’m on time if a meeting or shoot starts earlier. I also get to claim a sh*t ton more on taxes since I bought my place. You’re throwing away money by renting.
There's plenty of great areas surrounding playa that are cheaper. You don't need to live there to have a decent commute. SF is different in that way.
Live in mar Vista or n Redondo ?
I live in San Jose, so I know all about traffic and California taxes.
