So I'm the Teacher in an inclusion preschool. Besides myself there is the special ed teacher who is there 1/2 the time and the other half at another site. Then there are four (yes 4) assists. Two which are general ed snd the other 2 are special ed.
Now the majority of us there gets along nicely snd work well together. Except for one. She is one of the special ed staff.
This assistant will ignore the special needs students except for one who doesn't need the one on one assistance. (C)

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. I am having discussions with my teachers on ways that I can better support them and the students when remote.

Lots of right wing hysteria about liberals trying to engineer equality of outcome to correct sexual/racial inequities (in higher ed, for example). I think we all want socioeconomic, gender and racial barriers to opportunities to be addressed, but no significant number of people really believe in equality of outcome right? This is just a straw man argument.

I am frustrated as a Gay Woman who has given her all for 30+ years grinding to be the best. I have been in closet, out of closet, in-between and am tired of it. I want to be VALUED as a human being. I have gone from Rock Star to problem when people "found out". I have trained and promoted hundreds of people and been passed over for promotions because of not being a man. I have trained men with less experience, worse results only for them to move forward. If Diversity is important...prove it!

As is often the case, middle management and below is very diverse and then at Director+ it gets much more homogeneous. So far any real initiatives get shot down in favor of performative actions to post on SM. Is this just how it is, or can we try something different?
